From Monday 18th February BALPA will launch a fund for members affected by possible Strike Action.
Following a significant financial commitment from BALPA’s governing body, the NEC, an OpenSkies Strike
fund will be launched. No pilot should be prevented from supporting the ballot for industrial action on the basis of the fear of financial hardship.
This is an opportunity for BALPA members to show solidarity with their fellow pilots.
Simply pledge an amount that you are willing to offer in support of your colleagues who may be adversely affected financially by any Strike Action. The NEC will then match this amount. A number of other pilot associations across the globe continue to show their support.
The distribution of funds will be administered by a panel of BALPA officials on a case by case basis. In the event that any funds are unspent, or only partially used, the money will be returned to those who have made pledges in proportion to the amount donated.
If you wish to pledge your support, however large or small the amount you can offer might be, then please email OpenSkiespledge@balpa.org with your name, email address, membership number and amount of your fund pledge. We will only call on the pledge when needed.
Show our employer that “we are many” and we will stand together in determination to win this dispute.
